Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, a national major cultural relic of Guangdong Province, was designed by Mr. Lu Yanzhi, a reputable Chinese architect, and sponsored by the local people of Guangzhou and overseas Chinese to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the great forerunner of Chinese revolution. The Hall saw its construction started in 1929 and completed in 1931 at where the Presidential Palace had been.
The hall looks very imposing, dignified and solemn. Its architecture combines the Chinese classical palace style and the Western church style, in harmony with Sun Yat-sen’s ideal of learning from the West. The architecture style means that the ideal of Sun Yat-sen is everlasting.
As an important place for conferences and performances, it is equipped with excellent facilities and hardware items; it can hold thousands of people.
