White Cloud Mountain

Located in the northern suburb of Guangzhou City, White Cloud Mountain is a famous mountain in south China. It is also called Baiyun Shan, which is renowned for its natural beauty and is known as the “First Spectacular Scene of Guangzhou”

When the wind blows on the mountain, the sound it makes through the nearby vast expanse of pine forest is like boiling waves. People called this amazing natural phenomenon the Pine-Wave. With several parks, gardens and villas established within it, the forest is also a tranquil place for one to relax.

People always describe the natural beauty of Guangzhou as being composed of white cloud and pearl sea, the white cloud referring to that of White Cloud Mountain. It is made up of 30 peaks with the major peak of Mo Xing Ling whose altitude is 382 meters. The summit of the mountain will be wreathed by clouds whenever the sky clears after the rain or in the late spring time. Therefore, the mountain is called Baiyun Mountain. Climbing up the mountain, tourists can overlook the Zhujiang River and have a panoramic view of the city.

White Cloud Mountain is a natural garden and summer resort. People will also find the biggest natural birdcage in China, perfect for enjoying all kinds of birds; Bird Spring Valley Park. The visitor can stroll idly by the river and mountains, and mingle with the birds. Luhu Park is famous for Jinye Pond. Visiting White Cloud Mountain allows tourists to experience a welcome respite from the busy and modern Guangzhou City.
