Hongfu Temple

Situated in the northwest of Guiyang, Guizhou Province, Hongfu Temple is considered to be the largest temple of Zen Buddhism in Guizhou province. Originally built in 1667, today it is the key cultural relic preservation in Guizhou Province.

The temple is made up of a number of halls and the most important of these are the Daxiongbaodian Hall, the Kwan-yin Hall, and the Sutra Collection Pavilion. The architectural style is magnificent and venerable. Over the past 300 years the temple has undergone several rebuilds, repairs and enlargements and is now a very well preserved example of its kind. Besides these superb halls, the temple is also adorned with galleries, pools, and springs, which are of high artistic value.
