Jin Mao Building (Jin Mao Tower) is the fourth tallest building of the world and the second tallest building in China. Located in the center of Lujiazui Finance and Trade Districts in Pudong, with 88 stories reaching a height of 420.5 meters and 290,000 square meter construction area, Jin Mao Tower is a perfect combination of traditional Chinese architectural style and the world's modern architectural technology.

The first and the second floors are commodious and bright lobby. From the third to the 50th floor are spacious offices, which are open-plan with a floor-to-floor height of 4 meters and a floor-to-ceiling height of 2.7m. The 51st and 52nd floors are mechanical rooms. The Grand Hyatt Shanghai hotel occupies floors from 53 to 87. It's the world's tallest five-star hotel in terms of distance from the ground, which boasts a 152m barrel-vaulted atrium that is lined with 28 annular well-illuminated corridors and staircases arrayed in a spiral. The 88th floor houses the Skywalk, a 1,520-square-meter indoor observation deck, which is the tallest and biggest one of its kind in the Chinese mainland. It offers a panoramic view of Shanghai and a topside view of the hotel atrium below.

Shanghai Jin Mao Building represents the top level of architectural science & technology. The tower has the most advanced glass screen wall with the frame bonderized, which almost eliminates light pollution. In the tower, the new mode of self-rescue is adopted in the fire-fighting and life guarantee system instead of the traditional mode of rescue by others. The best vertical transportation system includes the special lift of the tower, which only takes 35min to reach the office floor and the in-the-air abutment function with a speed of 9.1m/sec. Adjacent to the building is a skirt building of auxiliary facilities, shopping area and entertainment site for business office.

 

The building also has basement for parking, which is 3 stories deep, can hold 800 cars and 2000 bicycles. The security equipment is advanced and complete with surveillance cameras.
