The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. In March 1974, some farmers happened to dig up what turned out to be a large-scale pit with terra-cotta soldiers and horses, belonging to the Emperor Qin Shi Huang, or the Founding Emperor of the Qin. Excavation of the vault revealed thousands of terra-cotta warriors and their horses, an entire army designed to follow its emperor into eternity. Shaanxi History Museum is situated in the southern suburb of Xian City, northwest of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It covers 65,000 square meters, with a building area of 60,000 square meters. The newly built modern building features Tang-dynasty architecture and successfully symbolizes the great extent of Shaanxi history and its remarkable culture.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a well-preserved ancient building and a Buddhist pagoda located in southern Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China. Standing in the Da Ci’en Temple, it attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion, its simple but appealing style of construction and its new square in front of the temple. The Temple of Heaven was constructed between 1406 and 1420, during the period of which Ming Emperor Yongle reigned. During the same period of time, the Forbidden City was also created. The Temple of Heaven (called “Tiantan” in Chinese) was where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties would offer sacrifices to heaven and pray for good harvests. View Photos
The Xi'an City Wall is not only the most complete city wall that has survived in China, but it's also one of the largest and most complete ancient military systems of defense in the world. The city walls here were actually built on the fortifications of the Tang Forbidden City. The military defense facilities here including the city wall, city moat, drawbridges, watchtowers, corner towers, parapet walls and gate towers once made up a complete city defense system. The Forest of Stele Museum, a courtyard-styled structure, is situated on the site of the Confucian Temple on Sanxue Street, Xi’an. It served as the Imperial Ancestral Temple in the Song Dynasty. In 1950, it was extended into the museum. The exhibits of the Forest of Stele Museum can be divided into categories: stone tablets and stone sculptures. View Photos
The Great Mosque of Xi'an, located at on Huajue Lane of Xi'an, Shaanxi province, is one of the oldest and most renowned mosques in the country. Famen Temple is situated at Famen Town, ten kilometers north of Fufeng County, 120 kilometers west of Xi’an city of Shaanxi Province, China. It was widely regarded as the “ancestor of pagoda temples in Guanzhong area”. Mount Huashan, known as the most precipitous mountain, is located in Huayin County, Shaanxi Province, about 100 kilometers from Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province. With an elevation of 2200 meters, the mountain overlooks the Huanghe River and the Weishui River to the north and the links with the Qinling Mountains to the south.
