Guangzhou Geography

Located at 112°57'E to 114°3'E and 22°26'N to 23°56'N, Guangzhou is the capital and the sub-provincial city of Guangdong Province in southern mainland China. Geography of Guangzhou is in the middle south of Guangdong Province, north of the Pearl River Delta. It lies close to the South China Sea, Hong Kong, and Macau. Guangdong covers an area of 7434.4 square kilometers (2870 square miles).

Guangzhou is a beautifully landscaped city with ever-green scenery and flowers blooming all the year round. Geography of Guangzhou is dotted with scenic spots like the White Cloud Hill Scenic Spot, Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou Zoo, Six Banyan Temple and Flowery Pagoda. In the Suburbs, there are such scenic spot on Conghua Hot Springs, Xiqiao Hill Scenic spot, Seven Star Crags, and Foshan City.

As a sub-provincial city, Guangzhou has direct jurisdiction over ten districts include Yuexiu District, Liwan District, Haizhu District, Tianhe District, Baiyun District, Huangpu District, Huadu District, Panyu District, Nansha District, Luogang District, and two county-level cities, which are Zengcheng City and Conghua City.
