By Air

There is no airport in Shigatse. If you want to fly to there, you firstly have to fly to the Gonggar Airport in Lhasa, and then take a long-distance bus to Shigatse City. It will take about 4 hours from Lhasa to Shigatse.

By Train

Although there is no railway station in Shigatse, you can firstly take the train to Lhasa Railway Station, and then take a long-distance bus at the Lhasa Bus Station to Shigatse.

By Bus

It is very convenient for you to visit Shigatse via bus. The Lhasa North Passenger Transport Station and Lhasa Bus Station offer many buses heading for Shigatse.

Local Transportation

There is no public bus in Shigatse. The best way for you to get around is on foot. This way offers you precious chance to enjoy the streets, buildings and markets in Shigatse. Getting around via the pedicabs is available and it will cost about CNY 2-3 per person. Taxi is another way for you to choose. The daytime fare is only CNY 5 regardless of where your destination is (within the city). After 20:00, the fare is CNY10 per trip.
