• Mogao Grottoes

  Located on the southeastern region of Dunhuang County in the province of Gansu, the Mogao grottoes is considered to be the richest abode of Buddhist art. The Mogao Grottoes are one of the three famous ancient sculptural sites of China together with Longmen and Yungang. In 1987, the Mogao Grottoes were listed as the World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO.View Photos

• Echoing-Sand Mountain

  Situated 5 km south of Dunhuang city, the Mingsha (Singing Sand Dunes) Mountain is celebrated for the sound of the moving sand. It is 800 square kilometers in size, stretching 40 km from east to west and 20 km from south to the north. The main peak is 1,715 meters above sea level. View Photos

   

• Crescent Moon Lake

  The Crescent Moon Lake is a magnificent lake in Dunhuang city. It is lying at the foot of the Echoing-Sand Mountain and located north side the Gansu Province in Dunhuang. It takes the shape of the crescent, hence got this name. View Photos
