As an inland city, Lanzhou is located in the temperate zone. It belongs to the typical continental climate and enjoys a semi-dry climate. It is dry all year around with annual precipitation of 250-350 mm, mainly from June to September. The temperature in Lanzhou varies drastically during the day and night. Therefore, the best season to go to there is from May to October when the temperature is suitable.
