Beijing_mapLeshan, a prefecture-level city, is located in the southwest area of Sichuan province, about 120km south to Chengdu and 20km west to Emeishan.

Leshan is a cultural city with a history of more than 3000 years and a modern city as well. Because of the rapid development of the city, most of the old buildings have been torn down but fortunately the Giant Buddha remains intact. Nowadays, it attracts millions of visitors both domestic and overseas.

With the tourism as one of its’ economic pillars, Leshan developed into an international city with world renowned tourist attractions. With Mountain Emei and the Leshan Giant Buddha in the center, the land of Leshan is clustered with many scenic resorts, nature reserves, and forest parks and key historical sites under protection. The transportation and communication facilities are convenient. The Chengdu-Kunming Railway runs through five counties and districts. Passenger boats and 500 ton class freighters can sail from Leshan Harbor and Leshan Bulk Cargo Dock to all of the harbors along the Yangtze River. Chengdu-Leshan Expressway connects the city directly with the Shuangliu International Airport of Chengdu.

Leshan has established friendly relations and economic cooperation with more than 5o cities worldwide. A large international man-made forest industrial group, an international monetary group, companies from Malaysia, Norway and Thailand has opened enterprises in Leshan.
