Macau International Airport is 7km southeast of the city. There are scheduled airlines between Macau and cities in mainland China including Beijing, Shanghai, Haikou, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Fuzhou and Chengdu and Taibei and Gaoxiong in Taiwan as well as Seoul and Inchon in Korean, Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, etc. Travelers can also catch connecting flights to other parts of Asia, Europe and America.
Banks and currency exchange, postal services, car hire, duty-free shops and restaurants are provided in the airport building. Buses run to the city and Macau-Hong Kong ferry terminal within 45 minutes. Taxis to the city center are also available, which takes about 15 minutes.
Departure Tax
It is included in the ticket cost.There are high-speed ferries between Macau and Hong Kong, which are operated by Turbo JET and New World First Ferry Services, with regular sailings each day. Both companies also run ferries to Shenzhen.
Long-distance Bus
The crossing point into Guangdong Province, China is via the Barrier Gate on the borders on Zhuhai or the COTAI Frontier post at the end of the Lotus Bridge on the island of Taipa. Buses run frequently to and from this point from 08:00am-18:30pm. The journey time is about 2 hours 30 minutes.TCM and Transmac are the two main bus operators serving all public buses and mini buses around Macau and to the islands. Bus lines cover almost all the hotels and attractions on the Macau Peninsular and the main tourist spots on the outlying islands of Taipa and Coloane. The working hours of most buses are from 06:00am to 24:00 pm.
Taxis are a more convenient way of transportation in Macau. There are two kinds of taxis, either black with a cream-colored top, or all-yellow. They generally have a destination guide written in Chinese, English and Portuguese. The fares of both cars start from 10 MOP$ for the first 1500 meters and 1MOP$ is added for following every 250 meters.
A taxi trip from the Macau Peninsular to the outlying islands of Taipa and Coloane costs extra five Pataca, in addition to the meter and for the taxi trip from Taipa to Coloane, two Pataca is added. However, there is no added fare for any return trips.
