Zhangjiajie lies in the northwest of Hunan province, in the juncture of the Yunan-Guizhou Plateau. The landform is complex in Zhangjiajie, including mountains, lava, hills, plains and so on. The most typical feature is the quartzes sandstone landform, which is especially rare in the world. Zhangjiajie has the first national forest park in China, of which the scenery is famous around the world. It is also a habitation for minority nationalities such as Miao and Bai.
