Beijing - Urumqi - Turpan - Dunhuang - Xi'an - Shanghai 12 Days

Day 01 Beijing (D)

Arrive in Beijing, the capital and cultural center of China, where virtually every boulevard and building exudes an air of importance. Transfer on arrival to your 4-star hotel. Visit Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. Stay in hotel 3 nights.

Day 02 Beijing (BLD)

Enjoy a full-day tour of the sights that make Beijing a spectacular destination: The Summer Palace, an oasis of tea gardens, pavilions, painted corridors, and shimmering Kunming Lake with Empress Dowager's eccentric marble boat. Badaling Great Wall, one of the world's most awe-inspiring sights, the great Wall snakes along nearly 4000 miles of impossibly steep hills and harsh, rugged plains. Today you will climb Badaling Great Wall in your leisure and marvel at the manpower that went into building the world's longest structure entirely by hand.

Day 03 Beijing (BLD)

Today you will enjoy the sprawling Forbidden City, home to 24 Ming and Qing emperors and now a repository of precious art and antiques; Tiananmen Square, the largest man-made square in the world and Wangfujing Street, a shopping street in Beijing.

Day 04 Beijing - Urumqi (BLD)

Fly to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Our English-speaking guide will meet you in the airport and transfer to hotel. You will have a city tour in the afternoon. Stay in 4-star hotel 1 night.

Day 05 Urumqi - Turnpan (BLD)

Embark on a coach to Turpan after lunch. Round out your tour with stops at Emin Minaret (Sugong Ta), Stay in 3-star hotel 1 night.

Day 06 Turnpan - Dunhuang (BLD)

You have a full-day visit of a legendary site of Flaming Hill, the ancient but magnificent irrigation system of Kare Well, Jiaohe Old Town and Astana Graves. You also visit local family. Take overnight train to Liuyuan.

Day 07 Dunhuang (BLD)

Arrive in Liuyuan in the morning, our English-speaking guide will meet you at platform of railway station and transfer to Dunhuang by bus, a big town in the desert. Check in hotel and have a rest. Round out your tour with stops at Mingsha Shan (Singing Sand Mountain), Crescent Moon Lake and White Horse Pagoda. Stay in 4-star hotel 2 nights.

Day 08 Dunhuang - Xi'an (BLD)

You have a full-day visit of the most renowned historical and religious sites—Mogao Grottos. Fly to Xi'an in the afternoon, a vital center of history, culture and archaeology. It is impossible to overstate Xi'an's importance in China's history. Here began the fabled Silk Road, here a string of dynasties made their capital, here a Neolithic culture built a village 6000 years ago, and here lies a highlight of your trip: the excavation site of 8000terra-cotta soldiers and horses, buried around the tomb of emperor Qinshihuangdi, builder of the Great Wall and other massive endeavors. Stay in 4-star hotel 2 nights.

Day 09 Xi'an (BLD)

 

 



Round out your tour with stops at the Museum of Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses of Qinshihuangdi and Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built by pilgrim monk Xuanzang in the Tang Dynasty 1400 years ago.

Day 10 Xi'an - Shanghai (BLD)

Take morning flight to Shanghai, the largest and most cosmopolitan city, as modern any in the world. You are greeted on arrival and escorted to your 4-star world-class hotel.
You have a visit of Nanjing Road, the most famous shopping street in shanghai and the riverfront Bund where foreign traders left a legacy of European-style buildings. Stay in hotel 2 nights.

Day 11 Shanghai (BLD)

Round out your tour with stops at Yuyuan Garden with its quintessential Chinese zigzag bridges, rockeries, and pavilions and Longhua Temple complete the day at a thrilling show by the Shanghai acrobats.

Day 12 Shanghai - Hometown (B)

With new insights and found memories of China, you embark on your homebound journey aboard your select airline.
