Beijing - Zhangjiajie - Yangtze River Cruise - Xi'an - Beijing 13 Days

Day 01 Beijing (D)

Arrive in Beijing, the capital and cultural center of China, where virtually every boulevard and building exudes an air of importance. Transfer on arrival to your 4-star hotel. Visit The Summer Palace, an oasis of tea gardens, pavilions, painted corridors, and shimmering Kunming Lake with Empress Dowager's eccentric marble boat. Stay in hotel 1 night.

Day 02 Beijing - Zhangjiajie (BLD)

Round out your tour with stops at Badaling Great Wall, one of the world's most awe-inspiring sights, the great Wall snakes along nearly 4000 miles of impossibly steep hills and harsh, rugged plains. Today you will climb Badaling Great Wall in your leisure and marvel at the manpower that went into building the world's longest structure entirely by hand. Fly to Zhangjiajie in the afternoon, parts of the Wuling shan mountains in north-western Hunan were set aside in 1982 as nature reserves collectively known as the Wulingyuanfengjingqu (Scenic Area ), encompassing the locations of Zhangjiajie, Tianzishan and Suoxiyu. Zhangjiajie is the best known, and many Chinese refer to this area by that name. Stay in 3-star hotel.

Day 03 Zhangjiajie (BLD)

You will take cable car to visit Huangshizhai Valley, Six Strange Tower, Dinghaishenzhen, Ten-mile art Gallery and the Golden Whip Stream. Embark on a coach to Zhangjiajie. Stay in hotel 1 night.

Day 04 Zhangjiajie - Yichang (BLD)

Embark on a coach to Yichang. Get on board at night.

Day 06 - Day 08 The Three Gorges Cruise Tour (BLD)

Visit the Three Gorges dam in the morning. Then pass the ship lock and continue on the cruise. Sail on through the Xiling Gorge. The captain hosts a welcome dinner on board at first night. You will take the shore excursion to Shennong Stream or Little Three Gorges. Continue this afternoon through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge and see the fabled Twelve Peaks and take shore excursion to Fengdu, the “Ghost City” or Shibaozhai.

Day 09 Chongqing - Xi'an (BLD)

Arrive in Chongqing in the morning. Chongqing, known as Ba in ancient times, is located in Southwest China. It is also known as a city of oven, mountains and fog. Visit Eling Park and the city tour of Chongqing. Fly to Xi'an in the afternoon, a vital center of history, culture and archaeology. It is impossible to overstate Xi'an's importance in China's history. Here began the fabled Silk Road, here a string of dynasties made their capital, here a Neolithic culture built a village 6000 years ago, and here lies a highlight of your trip: the excavation site of 8000terra-cotta soldiers and horses, buried around the tomb of emperor Qinshihuangdi, builder of the Great Wall and other massive endeavors. Stay at hotel in Xi'an 2 nights.

Day 10 Xi'an (BLD)

Round out your tour with stops at the Museum of Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses of Qinshihuangdi and Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built by pilgrim monk Xuanzang in the Tang Dynasty 1400 years ago.

 

 

 

 

Day 11 Xi'an - Beijing (BLD)

Round out your tour with stops at Shaanxi History Museum, enjoy the brilliant history and 372,000 exquisite historical relics in the museum and 600 years old City wall of Ming Dynasty. Take overnight train to Beijing, the capital and cultural center of China, where virtually every boulevard and building exudes an air of importance. Stay in hotel 2 nights.

Day 12 Beijing (BLD)

Arrive in Beijing in the morning. Today you will enjoy the sprawling Forbidden City, home to 24 Ming and Qing emperors and now a repository of precious art and antiques; Tiananmen Square, the largest man-made square in the world and the Temple of Heaven.

Day 13 Beijing - Hometown (BLD)

With new insights and found memories of China, you embark on your homebound journey aboard your select airline.

The trip price includes:
