Xian, formerly known as Changan, is the capital of the Shaanxi province in China and a sub-provincial city. As one of the oldest cities in Chinese history, Xian is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. With more than 3,100 years history, Xian is the eastern terminus of the Silk Road and known as the site of the Terracotta Army.

Yanan »

Yanan is a city in the Shanbei region of Shaanxi province in China. It has a history going back 1300 years. However, it was in the 1930s and 1940s that it became famous as the headquarters of the Red Army and the Communist Party of China. Chinese communists celebrate Yanan as the birthplace of the revolution.

Xianyang is a city in Shaanxi province, near Xian. The city site was located a few kilometers to the northwest of present-day Xian. It has an area of 10,213 square kilometers.

Weinan »

Weinan is situated in east-central of Shaanxi Province, separated from Shanxi and Henan provinces by the Yellow River. It is bounded on the west by Xian, neighboring Yanan in the north. The Qinling Mountain in the south is the boundary between Weinan and Shangluo.

Baoji »

Surrounded on three sides by hills, Baoji is in a valley opening out to the east. Its location is strategic, controlling a pass on the Qinling Mountains between the Wei Valley and the upper Han River,or named Chia-ling River. The city proper covers an area of 555 square kilometers. It is a newly flourishing industrial center with manufactures of textiles, machinery, and chemicals.
