Shanxi Photos
Shanxi is a province in the northern part of the Peoples Republic of China. The land of Shanxi is one of the origins of Chinese civilization, exhibiting evidence of human settlement over a million years ago. It is bounded by the North China Plain in the east and the middle Yellow River in the west. Mountains cover 67.5% of Shanxi Province, and its highlands, hills and basins stand at about 1,000 meters or more above sea level, sloping from northeast to southwest. Shanxi has a continental monsoonal climate with distinctive seasons. It is divided into 1 district, 10 prefecture-level cities, 12 county-level cities and 85 counties, with a population of 32.97 million as of 2000, mainly including ethnic groups of Han, Hui, Mongolian and Manchu. 。。。。。。
Datong »
Datong is situated in northern Shanxi Province. It is bordered by Inner Mongolia to the North and Hebei Province to the east. Covering an area of 14,176 square kilometers (5473 square miles), it is the second largest city in Shanxi Province with a population of 2.99 million.

Jinzhong »
Jinzhong is a prefecture-level city , covering an area of 16,404 square kilometers. It is situated on the Xiao River, about 15 miles (25 km) south of Taiyuan, the provincial capital. Jinzhong was created in 1999 by amalgamating the city of Yuci and Jinzhong prefecture, with the former Yuci becoming a district under the new city.

Shuozhou »
Shuozhou is a prefecture-level city in the north of the Chinese province Shanxi, upstream of the Fen River. Tthe city has an area of approximately 5,737 square kilometres. It is a centre of industry, and its notable industries are primarily mining of coal and other ores such as iron, bauxite, mica, manganese, and graphite.
