Sichuan is a province in Southwestern China with its capital in Chengdu. The Province has under its jurisdiction 23 prefectures, regions and cities, and 219 counties or districts. Chengdu is the Provincial capital. It covers a vast area of 485,000 square km, accounting for 5.1 percent of Chinese total area. Sichuan can be divided into two major topographical parts, the Sichuan Basin and the Western Sichuan Plateau. It is listed as one of Chinese major producers of rice, wheat, cotton, rapeseeds, raw silk, oil-bearing crops, meat, and fruit, and also holds a significant place in production of medicinal herbs, pigs and cattle. Sichuan's major industrial products are metals, coal, petroleum, machinery, electric power, well salt, chemicals, electronics, textiles and foodstuff etc. Visitors to this province can experience a wide variety of beautiful landscapes including plateaus, mountains, ravines, basins, hills, plains, rivers, lakes, hot springs, waterfalls and limestone caves. 。。。。。。
Chengdu »
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province and a sub-provincial city. It is also one of the most important economic centers, transportation and communication hubs in Southwestern China. Located in the west of Sichuan Basin and in the center of Chengdu Plain, Chengdu covers a total area of 12.3 thousand square kilometres (4,749 square miles) with a population of over 11 million.

Leshan »
