The construction of Chongqing Peoples Hall began on June 1951 and completed in 1954. The auditorium consists of three parts: the great hall, the North Wing and the South Wing on each side of the hall, and the Pailou Archway by the street. It takes up a total area of 66,000 sq. m and 65m height and the auditorium is 55 meters high. This circular auditorium has a seating capacity of 4200 and is surrounded by five-storey buildings outside.

Formerly known as Long Yin, Ci Qi Kou is located on the bank of the Jia Ling River. Covering an area of some 1.2 square kilometers (291.6 acres), it is 14 kilometers to the west of Chongqing Municipality. Undergoing centuries development, Chongqing has changed a lot, and the village conveys an impression of what Chongqing would have been like in the distant past.

Dazu County, located in the Southeast of Sichuan province, 271 kilometers away from Chengdu to her west and 167 kilometers away from Chongqing to her east, has the population of over 900,000 and the area of about 1400 square kilometers. Founded in the first year of Qianyuan in Tang dynasty (758 A.D), Dazu County has thus far enjoyed her history of more than 1240 years.under the conservation and protection, there are 75 spots of cliffside carvings composed of more than 50,000 statues and over 100,000 Chinese characters of inscriptions and epigraphs.

Houping Tiankeng  »

A tiankeng refers to a karst doline or sinkhole, measuring at least 100 meters (328 feet) in depth and in diameter. Based on the cause of formation, tiankengs can be divided into two types: collapsed tiankengs and eroded tiankengs. Collapsed tiankengs are common, while eroded tiankengs are quite rare. The Houping Tiankeng cluster is the finest example of an eroded tiankeng.

Refurbished in 1994 to somewhere near its Qing-era glory, the Huguang Huiguan originally served as a guesthouse for scholars from southern provinces taking the imperial exams. It later evolved into an entertainment center with lively restaurants and theater performances where famous female-impersonating Peking Opera star Mei Lanfang was a regular performer.

Discovered in the mid-1990s, the cave is over 1,022 miles long. At present, it is the youngest cave discovered in China. Because of its uniqueness and beauty, it has become a popular scenic spot along the Yangtze River as well as serving as a research site for the study of caves.
